Megan Hamilton – Neuro-Physiotherapist

Megan is a neurological physiotherapist who completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne in 2002. In 2005 Megan moved to London where she worked and travelled extensively for 4 years. It was in the UK that Megan discovered her love of neurological rehabilitation, working with people with Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis and Vestibular conditions. In 2009 Megan relocated back to Melbourne to further extend her career as a neurological physiotherapist and start a family with husband Peter.
Megan is an avid learner. Both in Australia and the UK she completed many courses learning therapy methods aimed at optimizing brain and movement function, including the Bobath Concept, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Motor Relearning, Awareness Through Movement, Vestibular Rehabilitation and Pilates. Megan has furthered her interest in Pilates by studying the Matwork and Equipment Pilates Teacher Series through APPI.
In 2015 Megan received scholarships to travel to the US to complete a six day Vestibular Rehabilitation Course and visit several leading vestibular and concussion rehabilitation centres. In the same year, she was awarded her Masters by Research, exploring ‘Predictors of Activity Levels following Traumatic Brain Injury’. Megan has presented the results of her research at conferences nationally and internationally and published several journal articles.
Megan believes that our daily habits – food, thoughts, posture and movement – influence our physical and emotional wellbeing and health. She is passionate about helping all people feel strong and confident in their bodies and believes that practicing pilates is an excellent way to achieve this.
When not studying or working, Megan enjoys nurturing her two gorgeous children, practicing yoga and pilates, taking holidays in the sun and learning about health. Megan has dreams of becoming fluent in French, travelling through Central America learning Spanish, becoming a yoga teacher and learning to play the guitar.
